Anberlin have released “Trenches,” featuring Switchfoot, as the next preview of Currency. Equal Vision announced the collaboration on October 15, with the album scheduled for November 11, 2026.

A collaboration inside a new chapter

The single arrives as Anberlin prepare their ninth studio album, with Matty Mullins as lead vocalist. Mullins previously appeared on two tracks on 2024’s Vega. The band produced Currency alongside Kellen McGregor of Memphis May Fire.

Mullins describes “Trenches” as a song about standing beside someone through a struggle you recognise from your own life.

Where it sits on Currency

Anberlin’s official Bandcamp listing places “Trenches” sixth in an eleven-song sequence. “Neverafter,” “Gravity” and “Highstakes” are also available there ahead of the full release.

For listeners following the band’s transition, the new track offers another concrete point of comparison before the complete record arrives, with Switchfoot joining the conversation rather than simply sharing a tour bill.
