Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 October 2026

1. Who is responsible?

GuitarGangsters.net is operated by Heat & Smoke AB, Swedish organisation number 559188-3169. Heat & Smoke AB is the controller responsible for the personal data processing described here.

Postal address: Muraregatan 42, 265 33 Åstorp, Sweden.
Email: hello@guitargangsters.net.

2. When you contact us

If you email us about an article, a correction, an image or a privacy question, we receive your email address, the contents of your message and any other information you choose to include. We use this information to handle the enquiry and related correspondence, based on our legitimate interest in operating the publication and responding to readers.

Providing information is voluntary, but we may be unable to answer without relevant contact details. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details or sensitive personal information in an initial message.

From 3 October 2026, our correspondence retention routine is to keep messages for handling the matter and necessary follow-up, then remove them when they are no longer needed. An exception applies where a documented legal need requires continued retention. This policy does not mean that earlier messages have already been deleted.

3. Website operation

Delivering and protecting a website involves technical information such as an IP address, requested page, timestamp and browser information. Website hosting, email and security services may process this information for delivery, troubleshooting and protection against abuse. Email sent to this domain is routed through Oderland’s mail infrastructure.

We do not describe all technical records or online identifiers as anonymous. Some can relate to a person or browser even when they do not include a name.

4. Website statistics

Google Analytics is configured to load after statistics consent. Complianz manages the Analytics tag and your statistics choice. Site Kit remains connected to display reports, but does not insert a separate Analytics tag. Readers who decline statistics are not included through this consent-controlled tag.

Google Analytics 4 is used to understand website usage, including page visits, traffic sources, device information and interactions with content. Analytics uses pseudonymous browser identifiers. Google states that Analytics 4 does not log or store individual IP addresses; this does not make all Analytics information wholly anonymous.

Historical data already collected may remain in the Analytics property. A browser cookie’s expiry and the retention of data in Analytics are different things. For questions about a particular record or a data-rights request, please contact us.

More information is available in Google’s explanation of Analytics data and privacy, Google’s information about data retention and Google’s Privacy Policy. These services may process data outside your country; Google’s documentation describes its processing locations and transfer safeguards.

5. Cookies and your choices

Complianz provides the cookie-choice panel and stores your preferences. Its consent-preference cookies are currently configured to last 365 days. See our Cookie Policy for the cookie names and ways to change your choices.

You can use Manage consent to review the available choices, and browser settings to block or delete cookies. After withdrawing consent, reload any pages that were already open so the updated choice applies to their Analytics tag.

6. External websites and service providers

Hosting, email and security providers support the operation of this website. Google processes information for the Analytics service described above. Their processing is separate from information a reader chooses to send directly to us.

Our articles and navigation link to other websites, including YouTube and sources relevant to our coverage. If you follow a link, the destination operates under its own privacy and cookie practices. When third-party content is loaded within a web page, its provider may receive technical information such as your IP address and browser details.

Google AdSense has not been activated on this site. This policy does not treat a possible future advertising service as an existing one.

7. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may request access to your personal data, correction, erasure or restriction of processing. You may also have the right to object to processing or receive your data in a portable format. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Send a request to hello@guitargangsters.net. We may need enough information to verify your identity before disclosing or changing personal data; please do not send identity documents in an initial message.

You can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, IMY, or to your local supervisory authority where applicable.

8. Changes and contact

The date at the top identifies this version of the policy. Questions about this policy, the retention of a particular record or the handling of a request can be sent to hello@guitargangsters.net. Our postal contact details are listed above.
