Crazy Tube Circuits has put the amplifier-inspired drive section of its Triptychon into a standalone pedal. Rapture keeps that foundation, adds two interacting switches and targets the space between a clean guitar sound and pushed overdrive. The manufacturer currently lists it at €189.

What MORE and MOD actually change

Rapture has three main controls: Drive, Tone and Master. The extra decisions happen at the MORE and MOD toggles. Put both in their lower positions and, according to the manual, you have the original Triptychon drive circuit. That is a useful reference point before exploring the variations.

MORE extends the drive response, but its effect depends on both the Drive setting and MOD. MOD changes the clipping behaviour; in its modified position, clipping is reduced for a more open response. These are interacting adjustments to one drive voice, not two independently switchable channels.

That distinction matters if you are considering Rapture as the foundation of a pedalboard. Its proposition is access to the Triptychon drive on its own, with further control over how it reaches breakup—not the entire parent pedal squeezed into a smaller purchase.

The practical pedalboard details

The manual specifies a regulated, centre-negative 9–18V DC supply with at least 50mA available. It warns against exceeding 18V and recommends an isolated supply. Switching is relay-based true bypass.

The maker describes Rapture as a low-to-mild-gain drive that responds to playing dynamics; we have not tested it. When auditioning one, compare the switch combinations with your own picking and existing gain setup rather than letting the label “amp-like” settle the choice.

Price and availability

At our 22 October check, the manufacturer listed Rapture in stock at €189, with dispatch in two to three days. That is the direct-store position, not a promise about every dealer or delivery destination.
