Underdark have shared “Death Of A Toolmaker,” the latest advance track from O Come Forth Annihilation. Church Road Records uploaded the official audio on October 14; the album is scheduled for November 6.

The next preview of O Come Forth Annihilation

The band’s album listing places “Death Of A Toolmaker” third in a seven-track sequence, between “The Hit Piece” and “Hollow Platitudes.” The earlier preview, “Non Linear Warfare,” appears later in the running order. O Come Forth Annihilation follows 2023’s Managed Decline.

For listeners following Underdark’s mixture of black metal and post-hardcore, this is a new opportunity to hear material from the forthcoming record. The band’s own Bandcamp genre tags include black metal, post-black metal, post-hardcore and post-metal. That framing identifies the territory; it does not replace hearing how the new track works.

The band’s stated aim

In a statement reported by Kerrang!, vocalist Abi Vasquez said the band aimed to make its most relentless and unforgiving track to date. Vasquez described the lyrics as a criticism of politicians who present themselves as ordinary people while pursuing policies at odds with that image. Those are the songwriter’s stated intentions.

The official upload credits Joe Clayton at No Studio for recording and mixing. Its description and the band’s album page credit Magnus Lindburg for mastering. The audio is available through Church Road’s channel, while the complete seven-track album remains scheduled for November 6.
