Luminite adds Kemper Link to Graviton’s 5.4.9 beta

A MIDI controller that listens back is the interesting part of Luminite’s latest beta. The stage-ready caveat matters just as much.

Luminite’s Graviton M1/M2 update has a more interesting hook than another version number: a controller that can listen back. The manufacturer’s October 23 announcement introduces 5.4.9 beta and its new Kemper Link.

A two-way view of the rig

According to Luminite, the link reflects Kemper rig and Performance names, displays signal-chain blocks and lets users toggle them while following their state. The release notes name Profiler Head, Rack, Stage and Player.

That distinction matters. Sending a command is one job; seeing whether the receiving device actually changed is another. For a guitarist navigating several sounds, feedback can make a controller feel less like a remote full of instructions and more like an extension of the rig. That is the appeal here—not a claim that we have tested the integration.

Existing hardware, a different conversation

The Graviton M2 is already a six-footswitch MIDI controller with a 3.5-inch touchscreen, preset and setlist functions, and USB, Bluetooth and wired MIDI connections. This announcement is a software development, not a new M2 pedal launch.

The practical question is whether this approach fits your own switching habits. A player who needs one reliable sound change has different priorities from someone coordinating a complex set.

Keep the beta label attached

Luminite recommends the stable release for gigs and externally stored backups. The beta is worth watching, not a reason to experiment immediately before a show. Compatibility is manufacturer-reported; we have not independently tested individual Kemper configurations.
