Machine Head have released “Sutures,” a new single issued on October 20, 2026. It arrives ten days after Robb Flynn announced the end of the band’s UNATØNED album cycle—a turbulent stretch that included seven shows as a three-piece.

Who made “Sutures”?

Flynn and Zack Ohren share the production credits. Nuclear Blast’s label-delivered audio credits list Flynn and Jared MacEachern as composers, Julian Gargiulo as mixer and Seth Munson as mastering engineer. Flynn, MacEachern and Matt Alston receive instrumentalist credits, although individual instrument roles are not specified.

That distinction matters for a band whose guitar partnerships have changed during the touring cycle: these are recording credits, not an announcement of a permanent touring lineup.

A new track after an eventful chapter

In his October 10 message to fans, Flynn reflected on the personnel and crew changes behind the UNATØNED campaign. He thanked Ohren for his work on the album and identified himself, MacEachern and Alston as the three constants through that period.

Flynn also said the band would take time off, with decisions about its future left for later. “Sutures” followed, but the checked official announcements do not describe the single as an explanation of those plans. A new recording need not come with a complete roadmap.

The track is available through the band’s official release announcement. For listeners following Machine Head’s next move, the song itself is the starting point—not an assumed new lineup or an unannounced album.
