Swanky Amp Pro 2 brings amp, pedals and cabinet tools into one guitar plug-in
Swanky Amp Pro 2 combines amp modelling, six effects, cabinet tools and a tuner. Check supported formats, system requirements and demo limits.
Resonant DSP has released Swanky Amp Pro 2.0, bringing its customizable amplifier simulation, effects and cabinet tools into an updated guitar-recording package. The company’s download page dates version 2.0.0 to October 30, 2026.
The appeal is not a virtual wall of famous amplifier logos. Swanky’s approach gives players controls for shaping the amplifier model itself, including separate preamp and power-amp drive, three blendable tone stacks and voltage sag. Those are adjustable modelling features, not a claim that we have tested its feel against a particular valve amp.
What changes in version 2?
The release notes identify a redesigned interface, a built-in tuner and a standalone metronome, alongside audio-processing refinements. Existing Pro owners receive the upgrade free: their version 1 product key activates version 2. The new version installs alongside 1.3, allowing existing sessions to keep opening in the older plug-in.
A signal chain rather than just an amp
The package includes six pedal effects, cabinet modelling and a dual impulse-response loader. Players can use the cabinet model’s speaker and microphone controls or load their own cabinet responses instead. A noise gate and built-in tuner round out the recording tools; the standalone application also includes a metronome.
There is scope for stereo experimentation without simply copying the same settings to both sides. Parameter spread lets the left and right channels differ, while the cabinet section provides independent channel settings plus balance and width controls. For a guitarist building a recording sound, that makes gain structure and stereo placement part of the same workflow.
Formats and compatibility
Version 2 supports CLAP and VST3 on Windows and macOS, Audio Unit on macOS, and standalone operation. The published requirements are macOS 11 or later on Intel or Apple silicon, or 64-bit Windows 10 or later.
Resonant DSP describes the licence as a one-time purchase with free product updates. Internet access is needed for initial activation; the software can then run offline. A demo is available, but it interrupts the audio once per minute until unlocked, so it should not be mistaken for an unrestricted free edition.
The useful question is how much control you want over an amp model, rather than how many presets it contains. Swanky Amp Pro 2 offers a route built around editable stages and a complete signal chain; an audition remains the way to judge whether that approach fits your playing.
