KISS have shared a newly remastered HD version of their 1976 “Hard Luck Woman” video. The official KissVEVO upload, published on October 2, brings the archive clip back into focus as Rock And Roll Over approaches its 50th anniversary.

Filmed before the tour

The video’s official description places the filming at Camp Curtis Guild Armory in Reading, Massachusetts, between November 15 and 21, 1976, during rehearsals for the Rock And Roll Over tour. Andrew Sgambati is credited with the new HD remaster.

That date and setting are the point of the release: the footage belongs to the original album’s working life, with the band preparing to take those songs on the road. “Hard Luck Woman” appeared on Rock And Roll Over, released in November 1976. The October 2 upload revisits that period through an official restored video.

Eddie Kramer returns to the tapes

The clip also connects with the album’s anniversary collection, due November 6, 2026. Original producer and engineer Eddie Kramer has prepared a new stereo mix from the original analog multitrack tapes. The collection also includes the original 1976 stereo mix newly remastered by Bernie Grundman.

The announced Super Deluxe configurations are six LPs plus Blu-ray Audio or four CDs plus Blu-ray Audio. Universal lists 130 tracks overall, including 100 previously unreleased tracks and mixes. Within that material are 22 demos, alternate mixes and outtakes, including nine Gene Simmons demos and the unfinished instrumental “Queen For A Day.”

Selections from all four of KISS’s April 1977 Budokan shows have also been newly mixed by Kramer. For now, the restored clip offers a direct way back to the album’s original era. For more on the band’s guitar story, explore our Ace Frehley guitars and gear guide.
