Seymour Duncan’s Iron Maiden pickup collection has a new addition for Janick Gers: a Signature Strat Set and a preassembled Loaded Pickguard. The wider range also receives individually illustrated Eddie packaging, including the existing Dave Murray and Steve Harris models.

The distinction matters. This is not a claim that every pickup design in the collection is new. The Gers configurations are the newly introduced products; the refreshed boxes bring the established Maiden offerings into the same presentation.

JB Jr. outside, Hot Rails in the middle

The Gers set puts JB Jr. for Strat pickups in the neck and bridge positions, with a Hot Rails for Strat in the middle. Seymour Duncan identifies this as his preferred combination. All three are Strat-sized humbuckers rather than conventional single coils, using ceramic magnets, four-conductor wiring and wax potting.

The individual set is listed at $319. The $419 loaded version places the configuration in an 11-screw USA-pattern pickguard, offered in black or white. Pickup color choices include matching colors and the black/parchment/black arrangement associated with Gers. Those are US manufacturer listings checked on October 28, not Swedish prices or a promise of local stock.

A configuration, not a complete rig

For a player considering the change, the pickup positions are more useful than a blanket promise of “the Maiden sound.” The collection offers a documented starting point; it does not establish which guitar or amplifier Gers used on a particular recording. The loaded pickguard’s stated screw pattern also deserves checking against the recipient instrument before purchase.

The announcement appeared in Premier Guitar’s press-release news section on October 27. The manufacturer currently lists the new sets alongside Murray’s Strat options and Harris’s P-Bass pickup.
