Taylor Adds Two Limited Koa Models to Its Legacy Collection
Taylor’s new Legacy koa pair combines an all-koa 12-string Jumbo with a spruce-and-koa six-string Dreadnought, limited to 52 examples of each.
Taylor has added two Hawaiian koa models to its Legacy Collection: the 12-string Legacy K65e LTD and six-string Custom Legacy K10 LTD. Announced on October 15, 2026, production is limited to 52 of each, with a US price of $5,999 per guitar.
Taylor says these are the first Koa Series instruments to join the collection. The two guitars take different approaches to body design, soundboard wood and bracing.
Legacy K65e LTD: an all-koa 12-string Jumbo
The K65e uses Hawaiian koa for its top, back and sides, wrapped around a non-cutaway Jumbo body. Its Legacy X-bracing follows the collection’s traditional construction approach, while an LR Baggs Element VTC system handles amplification.
The neck has a 25½-inch scale and 1⅞-inch nut width. Faux-tortoiseshell binding, green abalone top purfling and agoya shell inlays complete the appointments.
Custom Legacy K10 LTD: a shorter-scale six-string
The K10 pairs Hawaiian koa back and sides with an Engelmann spruce top. Its tapered Dreadnought body is ⅛ inch deeper at the heel and tail than Taylor’s standard square-shoulder design. Under the top, the bracing is a scalloped open-X pattern.
A 24⅞-inch scale and 1¾-inch nut give this model different dimensions from the K65e. Gotoh 510 antique-gold tuners with ebony buttons are fitted to the headstock.
52 of each model
Both models come with a deluxe hardshell case and a Legacy Collection back label signed by co-founders Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug. Taylor announced the guitars through its authorized dealer network; buyers should check individual dealer availability rather than assume every shop has stock.
