Wolfbrigade release Howl from Underground with a different recording approach
Wolfbrigade’s new album arrives October 9 through Metal Blade, with Lawrence Mackrory and a focus on capturing the five-piece together.
Wolfbrigade’s Howl from Underground is out on October 9, 2026, through Metal Blade Records. The Swedish punk/metal band’s current label page marks physical editions, downloads and streaming as available now.
Changing the recording process
The band worked with Lawrence Mackrory at Necromorbus Studio after what it describes as roughly a decade of recording, producing and mixing its albums itself. The new collaboration follows songs developed in the band’s own writing environment.
In the label’s account, the musicians wanted to capture the band playing as a unit rather than build the songs layer by layer.
Two guitars, one five-piece
The current label lineup names Erik Norberg and Jocke Rydbjer on guitars. It also identifies the returning drummer David “Dadde” Stark, whose earlier tenure is dated 2002–2015. The songs took shape in the band’s Wolfden Studio before the album’s recording work with Mackrory.
For guitar-focused listeners, that gives the record a concrete point of interest: how the two guitar parts function within the complete band performance.
The complete album arrives
Metal Blade describes Howl from Underground as the group’s twelfth LP when the first three releases under the Wolfpack name are included. The album contains twelve tracks and is offered on CD, digital formats and multiple vinyl editions.
The September 8 announcement introduced “Cold War Bootlicker”; listeners can now place that first single in the complete album sequence. The label’s official album page provides the current listening and format links.
