CFG introduces the USB-C rechargeable DeadOn clip-on tuner
CFG introduces DeadOn, a USB-C rechargeable clip-on tuner with chromatic mode, a color display and adjustable reference pitch.
CFG has announced DeadOn, a rechargeable clip-on tuner with a color display and dedicated modes for guitar, bass, violin and ukulele, plus chromatic tuning.
A rechargeable alternative to coin batteries
The manufacturer specifies USB-C charging, more than three hours of tuning from a full charge and a charging time below 90 minutes. The reference pitch is adjustable from 410Hz to 460Hz, with the selected setting retained after power-off.
CFG claims accuracy within half a cent and an A0–C8 detection range. Those are manufacturer figures rather than results from our own testing.
What matters for guitarists
Chromatic mode is the relevant option for players working outside standard tuning. An adjustable clip and display allow the screen to be positioned for visibility, while automatic shutoff follows eight minutes without activity.
The manufacturer’s US product page lists DeadOn at $34.99. A USB-A to USB-C cable is included; a suitable 5V power source is required. Check actual regional availability and delivered cost before ordering.
