The Katana’s tenth birthday comes with visible wood grain. BOSS has announced blue flame-maple anniversary editions of three products: the Katana Artist Gen 3 combo, Katana Artist Head Gen 3 and Katana Cabinet 212 Waza.

Announced on October 8, the trio uses high-gloss blue finishes over flame-maple veneer cabinetry. BOSS says these editions retain the standard models’ core elements. The change being announced is the presentation and made-to-order route, so the blue finish alone should not be read as a new amplifier generation.

Three products, three flagship stores

The anniversary range can be seen, played and ordered exclusively through Roland’s flagship stores in New York City, London and Tokyo. The official anniversary page describes them as special-order products.

Roland’s dated US announcement lists these launch prices:

  • Katana Artist Gen 3 10th Anniversary: $1,299 USD
  • Katana Artist Head Gen 3 10th Anniversary: $999 USD
  • Katana Cabinet 212 Waza 10th Anniversary: $999 USD

The head and cabinet are separate products. Anyone planning a stack should account for both, while the Artist combo is the self-contained alternative. Contact the relevant store for current ordering details rather than assuming the limited distribution means immediate local stock.

What the anniversary celebrates

BOSS introduced the Katana line in 2016 and reports more than 1.5 million units sold through 2026. That sales figure is the manufacturer’s tally. The anniversary finishes sit at the Artist/Waza end of a family whose appeal has also included onboard effects and flexible power control.
