Crown Lands release Casting Stones EP ahead of Apocalypse deluxe
Crown Lands release the three-track Casting Stones EP, with an Apocalypse deluxe edition and five live recordings following on December 11.

Crown Lands released Casting Stones on October 9, 2026, bringing three songs from the Apocalypse sessions to streaming and download services. The Canadian duo have also announced a deluxe edition of the album for December 11, pairing the original record with the EP and five live recordings.
Three songs from the Apocalypse sessions
The EP contains “Casting Stones,” “All I Need” and “The Revenants II.” It gives those studio recordings their own release before they join the expanded album later this year. Apple Music lists the October 9 release as three tracks running approximately 13 minutes.
Vocalist and drummer Cody Bowles explained in the release announcement that “Casting Stones” came early in the writing process for Apocalypse. It was left off the album because its subject did not fit the story involving Karagon and The Syndicate. Bowles described writing it as a cathartic experience.
The recording connection
The song also connects to the band’s work with producer Nick Raskulinecz. In a July interview with Goldmine, guitarist, bassist and keyboardist Kevin Comeau identified “Casting Stones” among the tracks they had worked on with him. Comeau said Raskulinecz’s other commitments meant the duo subsequently completed much of the album themselves.
That interview offers useful context for the sessions: Comeau said some of the demo guitar recordings survived into the finished Apocalypse tracks, specifically “Blackstar” and much of “The Fall.”
What the deluxe edition adds
The December release is planned as a two-CD digipak and digital album. Alongside the three EP tracks, its second disc includes four performances recorded live at Chalet and a live version of “Apocalypse” with an expanded lineup. The band have also shared a Chalet performance of “Casting Stones”.
The October 9 announcement sets out the two stages: the EP is available now, while the expanded Apocalypse package follows in December.
