TONEX 2 Player leaves beta as Board gains USB audio
TONEX 2 Player 2.1 leaves beta with optional TONEX Rig, while Board firmware 1.1.0 adds USB audio and USB MIDI.

TONEX 2 Player has left public beta. IK Multimedia released version 2.1 on October 1, 2026, alongside TONEX Board firmware 1.1.0, pairing a software overhaul with new USB audio and MIDI functions for the Board.
The base Player update is free for TONEX users. The current base Player has a redesigned interface, revised browsing and library management, and 15 built-in effects. The larger rig-building feature set comes through TONEX Rig, an optional paid expansion included for registered TONEX Board owners.
What TONEX Rig adds
Rig offers a 12-block chain across two signal paths, with split/mix routing and stereo operation. Its four-Tone-Model limit means up to two amp captures and two stomp captures. That gives players scope to combine captured drive pedals with a dual-amp setup.
IK lists 76 effects for Rig at launch. Complete rigs can be built in the software, shared through ToneNET and transferred to TONEX Board, bringing the effects and routing into the same preset workflow.
Board gets processed and DI recording
Firmware 1.1.0 adds four USB audio channels from Board to a computer and two channels back. Its assignable recording pairs can capture processed audio and dry DI signals simultaneously, preserving a clean take alongside the chosen sound. USB MIDI is also part of the update.
These firmware additions are for TONEX Board. The earlier TONEX Pedal and TONEX ONE are separate hardware models, so owners should check which unit and software entitlement they have before treating the update as a new feature list for their rig.
